‘Blogging ain’t easy but someone’s gotta do it’. OK, I just made that up but nearly all bloggers out there, big or small, will agree that it’s a full-time job in itself running, updating and maintaining a successful online blog. I’m the first to admit that I wish I could reach my ‘holy-grail’ target of ‘one-post-a-day’ to really challenge myself, but it’s easier said than done.
My blog has been an organic development since 2008. I’ve improved it and altered it over the years to suit my taste and vision. There’s been times when I’ve struggled with code, plugins, bugs and fixes to the extent that one such problem took 2 months for me to research, identify and fix! However, I love it and will carry on sharing my ramblings, work and thoughts.
This is why it was a sweet-tasting moment when an email dropped into my inbox from a web designer for a company that owns various online portals such as CouponAudit. They had identified my blog and wanted to include it in an infographic they were creating. It went live a few days back, and they included me in at no. 98 out of 100 of the best and most-popular design-related blogs out there. The heavies such as WDTuts, DesignModo and Code Fear made up the meaty end, with the small-timers and wildcards like me towards the tail-end.
In at no. 98…(drum roll)
I’ve always been an advocate for the common-man, the small fish amongst the sharks, so it’s just that little bit satisfying when someone gives you a ‘heads-up’ to appreciate your endeavours.
